Biography
Terrell Washington, a vibrant, down-to-earth young adult, is a fresh artist on the scene. Born and raised in Taylors and Greenville, South Carolina, Terrell has always desired to create art. As a young boy, his older sister inspired him to become an artist because of her prior interest as a teenager. Although he has no formal training, his work reflects the inner-man of his being and all its complexities. His paintings are raw and yet elegant, sublime and yet a painful sorrow, light and yet dark. The images seen are unique, never before witnessed to the masses and as a result, the viewer is never disappointed. Not only this, But Terrell and a business partner have created a business of t-shirt printing and clothing design. By the grace of God, it would be a blessing should anyone be impacted by his work and they feel it settle in their spirit. In the near future, he hopes to have his artwork displayed in galleries and museums nationally and internationally. Terrell also desires become an owner of his own gallery. There and beyond, he will continue to use his gifts and talents to speak truth to the entirety of the human populace. This is what Terrell Washington was created for. This is his legacy.

Artist Statement:
"I use my gift of vision to render a story filled with vegetation, fantasy, magic realism, religiosity, and waves of emotion. Its like my personal little diary. Inspired by works of Kehinde Wiley, Frida Khalo, Eyvind Earle, and Alessandro Sicioldr, I use bright colors, immense detail, and bold lines to illustrate my daunting images. Heavy with symbolism and metaphors, I bring to the table bewitching paintings that will leave you breathless. The goal to attract views with the outlandish and details unheard of. Primarily I use acrylics and watercolors, but I also mix nail polish and colored pencils to create any desired effects. As Paul Gauguin once said, "Art is either plagiarism or revolution!" I am my own enduring revolution! It is my personal prayer that anyone who looks upon my work receives revelation from The Creator God. In the midst of this, I would also pray that it brings humor, reflection, healing, a spiritual experience, and wisdom."
